Oscar Winners 2010

Oscars are, of course, news-makers across the Globe. But last year around the same time in February, I chanced upon a Swiss woman, or girl perhaps, with whom I had had an hour long chat! When I asked about the Oscars, she said she did not know about them! She knew the Oscars but not the winners!

Then, I asked if she knew about a certain Indian who won two Oscars! She said she did not know! After describing the physical attributes of the man, I thought she came closer to identifying AR Rahman! "Yeah a man with leeeaaaan face! Loooooong face! He is skinnieeeee........ Taaaaalll."

I was getting intrigued! Several portraits of Actor Vijay, Shahrukh Khan, and Amithabh Bhachan engulfed my mind! I was feeling dizzy! Was she mistaking Actor or Doctor Vijay for Rahman? Could she have seen several posters on the streets of Actor or Doctor Vijay?

Our Conversation continued, "Yeah..... Yeah..... The same man! He won two Oscars!" I merely had to hope that she was not mistaking that Actor Vijay won the Oscars! I wanted to cut short the conversation for I did not want to drag the conversation and also to not make a stunningly beautiful girl feel disappointed. I wanted to make her feel that she was right!

Her problem was that she mentioned that she did not understand the Engilsh spoken in Hollywood Movies which is much similar to the case in India! She apparently had problems in speaking and understanding English!

That apart, Oscars are a surefire news to be known or glanced upon. Here, I found this article on http://cinemablend.com which was compiled by Oscar Live Blog as mentioned in the article. Here the article lists both the nominees and the winners! The Winners are given in Bold Letters! Others are nominees!

But before reading the article, you may watch the video!

I anticipated that Avatar would not qualify to win too many Oscars given that Avatar was plagiarized from 16 sources! Kathryn Bigelow and her ex-husband contested the Oscars together! Kathryn Bigelow's ex-husband James Cameron contested with his much acclaimed Avatar which was made in a grand scale. Kathryn Bigelow's Hurt Locker was a small budget film!

The film Hurt Locker probably won the Oscars six time for its qualitative Screenplay, Sound Editing, Sound Mixing and Direction! Avatar was a distant three Oscar winner! Other Oscar Winners are not much famous in the Eastern parts of the World!

Before you finish reading the article on Oscar Winners 2010, hope I would be able to ring up the Swiss girl for a feedback on this year's Oscars!
