I was lazy enough at night to do a Google search on AR Rahman and Sachin Tendulkar as I was about to write their having a lot of things in common! Out of curiosity, I did have a search after I posted the previous article! Such an article had already arrived when Mohammed Kaif was playing cricket for India! I had the same comparison conception plenty of years back which was a random thought that kept recurring!
But just as you have Sachin and Rahman being similar, there are thinkers who think similar! "Wise men think alike" is always a consolation prize in reality! Here is an article that interested me from a blog!

A.R.Rahman: Had fabulous nineties with all his albums doing well in this time. Reached dizzying heights during this period. Had flops with major banners since 2001, which got the critics interested. Had a great 2003 within this lean patch with Boys creating sales records. His fans base however is intact, proved that with success of "A Ah" album.
Sachin Tendulkar: The star of 90’s, his batting propelled him into a youth icon status in India and was concurred with many awards from the government. Being pressurized by the detractors for an imaginary loss of form and injury worries since 2001. Had a great world cup 2003 scoring runs at will. Recently has had a good innings in a one-day match to prove that he is still fit.

A.R.Rahman: Has a duplicate called Harris jeyaraj who not only copies his music and composing style but also his hairstyle and way of speaking in interviews. (Highly agreeable point)
Sachin Tendulkar: Virendar sehwag, a natural duplicate of Sachin Tendulkar with looks and batting style similar to him. Virender Sehwag is called as the “Najafgarh ka Tendulkar”. (Najafgarh is Virendar sehwag’s hometown.)

What fascinated me was the similarity in the thoughts of Harris Jeyaraj as the duplicate for A.R.Rahman and Virender Sehwag as the duplicate for Sachin Tendulkar. Virender Sehwag became famous in the year 2001, I guess with his quick hundred against New Zealand, if I am right. Similarly, Harris Jeyaraj became famous in 2001 with 'Minnale".

I always feel some kind of similarity between AR Rahman and Sachin Tendulkar! The Oscar winner has also reached the peak of his career along with the batting maestro! Earlier they started off at almost about the same time. They started around the early 90s.
A.R.Rahman started his career when he was a young boy. He had a deep love for music! Similarly Sachin Tendulkar started playing cricket at the age of 3. A.R.Rahman took to making jingles at almost the same time when Sachin Tendulkar was playing for the domestic teams!
Sachin Tendulkar got a break in International Cricket during 1989 but he became a familiar household name by 1992, 93 and 94 by which time Rahman also turned a household name! Both Sachin and Rahman had the peak of their careers in the years 1994, 95, 96, 97, 98, 99 and 2000.
After 2000 both of them got slightly hit in their careers. They rose back to past glory occasionally. It might seem that Sachin Tendulkar had the biggest slump after 2000 but it is also true that A.R.Rahman did not fare as much as he did in the 90s.
AR Rahman and Sachin back to form
Sachin Tendulkar was not so convincing again to many (excluding those who understood the dynamics of the game) till 2006 and neither was AR Rahman so convincing. It was after 2007 that people started to notice them getting back to their best!
Now Rahman won the oscars, grammy and bafta! Sachin Tendulkar scored the double century in 2010. Tell me how long is it since Sachin Tendulkar scored the 200 after Rahman won Grammy! It was hardly a month I guess.
Similar Character traits of Rahman and Sachin
Have you ever observed that both their characters are very similar? Both Rahman and Sachin are reclusive individuals who concentrate extremely on their professions. I also believe both have been praised for their sheer original talent. When there are about half-a-dozen music plagiarizers in India, AR Rahman is known for his talent and Sachin Tendulkar's talent is unquestionable!
AR Rahman's songs are relatively original! When it comes to both their characters, they are very similar and that is for each and everybody to witness.
Above all, both of them have put India on top of the world through their love for the profession they have been in. They have nothing else to breach, no more records to be made and no more awards to be won! They both are at their peak with no saturation point above them! They keep going all the time! There is no stopping these two great individuals!
They both have contributed significantly to our nation! What more can they do? Right when you ask this question, both AR Rahman and Sachin Tendulkar come back with some form of an even greater achievement than all their previous achievements! They both have made India stand proud amidst all the nations in the world! They can never be forgotten and history will never dare to erase them from its pages!
Let me finish off with a pun! Both AR Rahman and Sachin Tendulkar make records! Does AR Rahman break records? LOL!!!!! One more to end this article! Both are called maestros!
