CSK vs MI: Chennai Super Kings vs Mumbai Indians: IPL 3 (2010) Final won by Chennai Super Kings

Chennai Super Kings vs Mumbai Indians - The IPL 3, 2010 Final. Proud moment for Chennai and Chennai Super Kings. Chennai erases long time Stigma.

The team looked unorganized and looked like nine pins or eleven individuals. Today, the Chennai Super Kings becomes the proud winner of IPL 3 2010. The IPL 3 Final Match started on 25, April 2010 and Chennai turned a winner on 26th of April 2010.

Dark horses than underdogs - Chennai Super Kings eventually won the IPL 3 Championship with sheer effort and Dhoni's captaincy. Mahendra Singh Dhoni proves to be the best Captain India has ever had in any form of the game. Mahendra Singh Dhoni placed the Indian Team top of the Test Match Rankings.

Chennai Super Kings (W)innings

The Chennai Super Kings played at about 6 an over until 15 overs when Suresh Raina stepped on the gas and accelerated Chennai to a score of 168. Raina turned the lone star of the match scoring a briskly paced half century. He rocketed Chennai to a good total to defend.

Raina was dropped twice by three of the Mumbai Indians fielders where two of them avoided a collision and let the ball drop to the ground. Zaheer khan dropped a catch in much of a clumsy manner proving to be not one of the best of fielders.

The Chennai Super Kings fans did not feel that the total was inadequate and believed that the team stood a chance to win.

Mumbai Indians innings

Sachin, though injured, played the game as a true warrior. Sachin Tendulkar would never want to sit at the dressing room and watch his team lose. Sachin Tendulkar played as far as he could and the fall of his wicket at 48 paved the way for Chennai's win.

A few blunders on the part of the Mumbai Indians made them lose the game. Saurabh Tiwary, Keiron Pollard and Ambati Rayudu could have taken the crease earlier than Harbhajan Singh who lost his wicket for one run. They did not look like accelerating and the Chennai Super Kings restricted them to less than 5 or 6 runs an over.

As Abhishek Nayar got out, we witnessed something that has never been seen. Sachin Tendulkar hit the ground with his bat hard out of frustration. This win mattered most to him. Keiron Pollard looked like taking the game away from the Chennai Super Kings but somehow fell to a trick by Dhoni who fielded Matthew Hayden almost on the side screens in mid-off.

Keiron Pollard was hitting straight and a good pair of reflexive hands as Matthew Hayden's could endure his cracking shots. This was discussed on the Presentation Ceremony (Just as I am typing now) and Dhoni gave an impressive answer stating that powerful hitters hit straight on the ground and do not sweep or do late cuts. So, there is no point in having a fine leg.

Dhoni is worth the money

Dhoni (as I am typing) will go last to collect the medals letting his team go first. Dhoni is one of the highest paid cricketing stars in the IPL. He goes for achievements after achievements and Mahendra Singh Dhoni (is collecting the cheque and the trophy as Ravi Shastri announces) is worth all the money spent on him by India Cements.

While Ambani would have been slightly disappointed, one has to feel bad for Neeta Ambani who would have been lifted in the air by the aggressive Harbhajan Singh for one last time in this tournament - IPL 3, 2010!

Lalit Kumar Modi in his final address rubbished claims on the IPL for having been involved in large scale scams and practicing faulty methods of trade. IPL was almost called a gamble and match fixing allegations engulfed the IPL 3. Hardcore partying also added to the controversies! But this is not to be talked about now! This is a proud moment for Chennai fans!

Both the Chennai Super Kings and the Chennai Super Kings' fans can celebrate as long as possible.

CSK vs MI Round 2: Chennai Super Kings vs Mumbai Indians: Sachin Tendulkar dehydrated for Chennai to win

Chennai Super Kings vs Mumbai Indians Round 2 IPL 3 Match ended with Chennai Super Kings on the winning side. Sachin Tendulkar's dehydration worked in favor of the Chennai Super Kings. Acute bowling and fielding of CSK led to victory

Wow! The crowd erupted! A sweet choir of "Oooohs" and "AAAhs". The stadium and the stands were magnificent. Outside a huge crowd was waiting to see the match. I went late to the stadium without a ticket. I was hoping to get one. As many as four or five tickets were transacted before me. I simply let it go! I came back home and found that Sachin Tendulkar was dehydrated.

With that came Chennai Super Kings' chances! The Chennai Super Kings decided to bat first and posted a total of 165 runs. Though with no big scores, scores of 30 to 35 from most of the players did the trick. Hayden scored 35 and Dhoni 30. Then, Mumbai Indians came out to bat and started off well. Shikhar Dhawan and Sachin Tendulkar took time time to settle and soon Dhawan departed. Sachin Tendulkar scored six fours in his overall score of 45 runs off 35 balls.

Earlier, Sachin Tendulkar was dehydrated and had to "retire ill". Sachin Tendulkar had then made 38 off 28 balls. He came back again at a crucial stage of the game and had to leave the field for he could not withstand the humid conditions of Chennai. Sunil Gavaskar mentioned that the Mumbai Indians lost because they were bereft of their leader. Sachin Tendulkar marshaled his Mumbai Indians team to great consecutive wins. They are now the top ranked team losing only one match before losing out to Chennai Super Kings yesterday.

The retired hurt of Sachin Tendulkar made the Mumbai Indians retire hurt to a loss after being on the winning trot for so long fully and exclusively led by the Little Master.

The IPL craze, fun and fan - IPL larger than life

The game is definitely a good enough fun, excitement and an enjoyment. It is definitely a larger than life game. The IPL is worth every single rupee spent on it. The fun and excitement electrified the whole atmosphere. The place filled up with loads of youngsters who wanted to take at least a good peek at the game from behind the closed grille gates. Small kids could climb walls of 6 ft high. They got some live action from before the Police frightened them off the place.

While coming back on train, a few experts of the game (commuters) said, "Chennai isn't that hotter now." "Well! This could be match fixing," said another. I could not control myself, "We Chennaiites find it hard to survive the temperature. We sweat even at nights. And Sachin may not have been able to manage." I said.

"He played Tests, One Day matches here. Why can't he play T20, that too at night?" Those memory loss patients said. "Ambani is richer than India Cements. So guess who gives money to whom," I shot back. They were people of above 40. From the Railway Station to my home, another guy (man) who asked me for the score. I just told him what I got as the update.

He said, "Is it not possible to go inside paying money?" I said, "The Police will (lathi)charge your bottoms for that." He said that he saw a cricket match between India and West Indies. He was a coolie. He told me that he had once gotten in by paying a security personnel Rs. 20 per head. I said, "This is not possible now."

He (was drunk) said it was before 15 years and said, "Sunil Gavaskar played a very fine innings. Krishnamachari Srikanth is my favorite. Whichever bowler bowls, he hits six. I saw VRS Richard (Vivian Richards), Wals (Walsh), a great batsman. I saw all of them!"

PS: I have started hunting tickets for the next IPL match! So, hopefully I will post live action right from the Stands!

CSK vs MI IPL 3 Match Result: Chennai Super Kings vs Mumbai Indians: Sachin Tendulkar nudged Mumbai Indians to an emphatic win

Chennai Super Kings vs Mumbai Indians IPL 3 match ended with Mumbai Indians winning with ease. Chennai Super Kings's total of 180 didn't help them secure a win! Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar took care of the proceedings!

"If Dalai Lama were to watch the IPL, would he support the Chennai Super Kings or the Royal Challengers Bangalore?"

I read on Yahoo, a headline, on Dalai Lama watching the IPL! I didn't read the article fully. Hopefully, will catch it today. By the way, one more Kudos to us for two of our predictions had turned right. We said in our last post that Dhoni will come back in to the side for the match against Chennai Super Kings for some damage control, then the Chennai Super Kings will lose the match against the Mumbai Indians! Gee! We have been right on more than one occasion!

Sachin Tendulkar won the toss. Experience helped Sachin take good decision

Sachin Tendulkar won the toss and decided to field. The Mumbai Indians rather restricted the Chennai Super Kings to a 180? Knowing that the Mumbai Indians will win the match with Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar? Earlier Mongoose bat Matthew Hayden scored 4 fours of consecutive deliveries of Zaheer Khan. Then, he got out cheaply.

Suresh Raina came to the crease and scored a well made 83 off 52 balls with seven fours and three sixes and remained unbeaten. Subramaniam Badrinath scored 55 off 45 balls. In Twitter, it was joked that the strategy of Mumbai Indians was to not appeal for Badrinath's wicket. The batsman did not give a flying edge to his game but rather scored better than a run a ball.

They sailed the Chennai Super Kings to a comfortable total of 180 runs. It could also be called as a comfortable total for the Mumbai Indians to chase with Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar. The Chennai Super Kings, though they scored at 9 runs per over, lacked a fighting spirit. The team always looks ordinary and looks like "just-out-of-bed".

They scored a few shots here and there except for Suresh Raina's batting who scored most of the runs. This is a serious sectarian humiliation for the Chennai Super Kings. This further echoes the stigmatizing of the Chennai players as lacking talent to play at the International level. At least Dinesh Karthik is one of the fine players from the soil, who unfortunately plays for the Delhi Daredevils.

Even that move would not make much of a change. The commentators (probably Harsha Bhogle I remember) told that the last over by Lasith Malinga which gave away just 7 runs could have been the crucial turn around for the Mumbai Indians. Was it true? It clearly indicated that the total on the board was not enough for the lackluster Chennai Super Kings bowlers to defend.

The Mumbai Indians innings

The Mumbai Indians scored at brisk pace right from the beginning. Shikhar Dhawan scored a brisk 56 off 34 balls with 5 fours and 3 sixes. Then, Sachin maneuvered the team to a superb victory with 8 fours and 1 six. His strike rate was 138.46. Sachin Tendulkar scored 72 off 52 balls. The inexperience of Saurabh Tiwary was revealed when he fell to the spin wizard Mutthiah Muralitharan. He was caught LBW by a straightening Mutthiah Muralitharan delivery which pitched in line. Mutthiah Muralitharan made useful contribution by picking up 2 wickets but that was not enough for the Chennai Super Kings to win.

The team demanded a team effort to win. Probably, the next IPL auction will call for a few good bowlers for the Chennai Super Kings team. It was all quite easy for the Mumbai Indians and they never looked out of the game for even a single moment. The Mumbai Indians won the game against Chennai Super Kings quite comfortably.

I wanted to see God today. He came in the form of Sachin Tendulkar!

I wanted to see God. I knew I would see him today. I gleefully saw Him score 72 off 52 balls. I was wondering if I wanted Chennai Super Kings to win or Sachin Tendulkar to score a comfortable half century. I opted for the latter. I had long foregone my love for the Chennai Super Kings that the team remains the least glamorous of all. Even the ever losing Kings XI Punjab has been glamorous! Not only with Preity Zinta! Mind you!
